Bevans Oyster Company is located in historic Westmoreland County Virginia, a rural Community nestled between the Potomac and Rappahannock Rivers, both tributaries of the Chesapeake Bay. The company opened for business on October 1, 1966 by founders Ronald and Shirley Bevans and since that time the “Bevans Brand” oyster has become well known across the United States.
We are notorious in the seafood community for our standard of quality oysters and our brand is known for fresh taste. We have a reputation in the seafood industry for a sanitary shucking and packing facility.
We at Bevans Oyster work diligently with federal and state agencies to guarantee that products are packed under safe and strict health regulations. All of the Bevans managers are HACCP certified and products are shipped fresh daily. Bevans also supports educating the public on shellfish issues.

Bevans Oyster Company is on the cutting edge of research. To ensure the future of oysters in the Bay, Bevans explores new technologies and continuously works with state officials, universities, and industry colleagues. Bevans uses these technologies all in an effort to cultivate an even tastier, safer, easy-to-use product for oyster lovers throughout the world.

Bevans Oyster Company is still a family owned and operated business. We plan to continue this tradition as younger generations of the family are integrated into the business. The Bevans family, along with their staff, are dedicated to preserving the Chesapeake Bay heritage and to serving the many clients who have come to count on Bevans for fast delivery and a fine product.
